On the Shoulders of Giants

by Jason Bollinger on September 22nd, 2015

It's hard to believe, but this past weekend marked one year since Norman & Grace's Golden Wedding Anniversary Gala in Azle, TX. We gathered there to celebrate our dear friends and to honor them for their invaluable influence in our lives - especially in the area of missions.

That gala was a huge launching point for the USA office of Links International. Nearly $10,000 was raised for mission travel and projects throughout the year.

However, this week was special for another reason. Over the years Norman and Grace have held a strong relationship with the Church of Living Waters in Rosenberg, Texas. Many times they spoke at an annual event called "International Sunday" where they focus intently on International Missions. I was incredibly honored to be asked by COLW to speak at that event Sunday.

International Sunday included hearing people from Nigeria, Ghana, and Uganda praying in their native tongues, as well as, African music and food from around the world. It was humbling for Holly and I to stand where Norman and Grace have stood so many times and to proclaim a message of Good News to the poor. It was truly a great day.

Darren and Gamila are doing a wonderful job leading a church family that Darren's parents laid an incredible foundation for. It was clear to see that working together for International Sunday, we were standing on the shoulders of spiritual giants. The funny thing is they would never agree to being called "spiritual giants," but to us they are. They boldly and courageously pioneered mission work and church planting that was way ahead of it's time. It's a new season now for both Links USA and COLW, but we wouldn't be where we are if it weren't for those God sent to prepare the way for us. It's amazing to see the reality of serving a God who works faithfully through the generations to take Good News to the ends of the earth. We witnessed a big dose of that yesterday!

We love spending time with partner churches speaking and dreaming about mission. We are better together, and that is evidenced by days like we experienced Sunday.

Thank you so much to Darren and Gamila Frank at Church of Living Waters for having us as a part of your special day.

For the Kingdom,

Jason Bollinger
